Taken from their forthcoming debut album, the spellbinding 'Alive In Us', Darkness Falls announces their next single, the melancholic and mysterious 'The Void'. Featuring the heartwarming tones of lead singer Josephine Philip, who co-writes with band partner Ina Lindgreen, the whole album was produced by leading Danish composer and recording artist Anders Trentemøller.
As we look forward to the album‘s release, the catchy, up-beat yet mysterious charm of 'The Void' confirms that the group‘s stand-out sound is set for big things.
To be split between both 12” and 7”, there’s a whole host of special remixes to whet our appetites for the long-player, which will be released later this year. Remixes come from Trentemøller himself, alongside Clueless, Lightbluemover vs. Black Light Smoke, and Terje Bakke.
Trentemøller‘s more electronic mix is built for club play and transforms the original into whirling, dramatic stormer full of heavy bass and rasping vintage percussion. On the 7‘‘ version of the single Trentemøller‘s touching 'Piano Version' accompanies the original, drawing on the heartstrings as he does so well, with great sensitivity to the original.
Norwegian newcomers Clueless add a more relaxed touch to the song by pitching things down to make a softer, slightly more melancholic yet no less beautiful version.
Francis Harris alias Lightbluemover teams up with Black Light Smoke providing a great tripping mix that stretches out over 9 minutes of intricate reduced funk. Superb production and bold, bright sound flavour this twisted disco masterpiece.
Danish talent Terje Bakke adds his touch to the mix with a drum-led mix that oozes vintage charm and smoky, analog studio magic.
