Darkness Falls / Dance And Cry
Following hot on the heels of 'The Answer' and 'Hazy', Danish pop duo Darkness Falls present the third single and title track from their forthcoming album 'Dance And Cry' – a noir pop anthem tinged with melancholy, drama and deep longing.
Having distinguished themselves with 2011’s Trentemøller-produced LP 'Alive in Us' and a string of accomplished live performances, it’s proof positive that there's a lot to come for the Danish duo. Over a circling beat and glimmers of reverberating tremolo guitars that summon up the mystery it’s a torch song tinged by loneliness and heartbreak but also by the empowerment that comes from living life in the city to the full. As its title suggests, it’s not a question of either/or but rather both. We dance and cry. Lush, romantic and heart-stirring, it’s a tune to languorously immerse yourself in.
An instrumental version on the flipside offers listeners the opportunity to enjoy the richly-detailed production in which the duo – aided and abetted by the talents of Adrian Aurelius (Raveonettes) and Lasse Martinussen (Rosemary) – blend an array of rock, pop and dance influences to create a singular and deeply involving sound.
