Kasper Bjørke, one of the most applauded and versatile producers and DJs on the international electronic music scene to ever come out of Copenhagen, has released on tastemaker labels like Eskimo, Mirau, Compost Black Label, Correspondant - and many more. The renowned albums 'Standing On Top Of Utopia' (2010) an 'Fool' (2012) as well as his massive remix showcase compilation named 'Remix Crusades' (2013) was released on hfn.
And now we are excited to announce that Kasper is back in the studio to record his fourth solo longplayer; tentatively named 'After Forever'.
'Rush' is now the first single taken off the album.
Layed out in a melancholic and beautiful soundscape, 'Rush' features LA based singer Tobias Buch (frontman of the neo hippieband The Late Great Fitzcarraldos, that Kasper signed back in his days as A&R at a Danish indielabel).
Tobias has previously added vocals on the slick DFA 12” release 'From Inside' by DJ Kaos, and as part of the LA project Sonns, under the alias Red Baron, a song which Kasper coincidentally remixed last year.
Buch's distinct vocals are the perfect counterpoint to Bjørke's moody and lose No Wave inspired production, that centers itself around the live bass, played by WhoMadeWho's Tomas Höffding.
Rasmus Littauer (the tour drummer of MØ) hits the hats just right and adds the perfect amount of liveliness to the electronic programmings.
'Rush' is 'a story of obsession and love - and a man realizing his demons, waking up in a dark dream' says Buch about the lyrics - a song that could easily turn out to be the bittersweet love anthem of this spring and summer.
'Rush' clearly hints that the new longplayer, set for an autumn release, will show a different and darker side of Bjørke.
The single will be accompanied by a musicvideo in April and a massive remix package in early May. The cover is a detail from a work by the Brooklyn based, American artist John Copeland.
