Brynjolfur / Chain Glass

After a pair of celebrated outings on nu-disco homestead Eskimo Recordings, Brynjolfur drops 'Chain Glass' on Hamburg’s hafendisko. The young Dane does not disappoint – 'Chain Glass' is a shimmering piece of electronic balearic pop music, featuring glistening melodies, sweet hooks and infectious beats. It has summer written all over it.
The 'Bull In Bryns Basement Mix' is the more dance-floor orientated version, ramping up the beats and groove somewhat to produce a mid-tempo chugger that will work even the most stubborn of audiences. Mid way through, various acidic elements break free and combine with uplifting vocal melodies to make this a potential big track for the balearic festival crowds this year.
Similarly, 'Steezy' completes the release with a healthy dose of 90s-referencing house, with a distinctly Scandinavian disco slant. Brynjolfur is clearly very well versed in that toes-in-sand-and-arms-in-the-air feeling, and this release suggests keeping an eye out for his DJ sets and productions will prove very worthwhile.
